POCSTARS Contributes to the Release of China’s MCX Industry White Paper

Wuxi, China – October 2025 — The Mission Critical Communications (MCX) Technical White Paper was officially released during the 5G-A × AI Empowering Industry Applications Forum at the 2025 World Internet of Things Exposition.
Led by the China Mobile Research Institute and published by CMI Thinktank, the white paper was jointly compiled with contributions from key industry partners including POCSTARS, Huawei, ZTE, Hytera, Nokia, and Eastcom. The document aims to accelerate the standardization, industrialization, and application of MCX technologies in China.
The white paper provides a comprehensive overview of the current MCX landscape, covering its technological evolution, standardization roadmap, and ecosystem development. It highlights the “1+4+2+N” architecture framework, which defines the foundational layers, key capabilities, communication models, and service features that will guide the next phase of MCX evolution toward 5G-A and 6G.
As one of the contributing organizations, POCSTARS offered technical input in the areas of MCX system architecture and broadband mission-critical communications. The company’s participation supported the collaborative effort to enhance interoperability, strengthen ecosystem integration, and advance MCX standardization in China.
MCX (Mission Critical Services) refers to broadband group communications designed for public safety and critical industry applications. Based on 3GPP international standards, MCX integrates voice (MCPTT), video (MCVideo), and data (MCData) services, featuring high reliability, low latency, and scalability. The release of this white paper marks a significant milestone in China’s efforts to establish a unified MCX framework and strengthen its position in the global mission-critical communications landscape.
